It can happen to the best of us. Whether you are just driving along and someone sideswipes you or you lose concentration in Malta’s fiendish traffic, there’s always a chance that you could be involved in a traffic accident.

GoTo takes its car sharing responsibilities seriously, which is why we have a system in place to ensure that you are protected. So, how does it work?
If you have an accident or crash in a GoTo vehicle, the first priority is to make sure that you and everyone else involved in the accident is ok and unharmed. Secondly, you should make sure that the site of the accident is safe. If you have any doubts whatsoever, then you should call the emergency service.
Once you are satisfied that everyone is fine, you should call our customer service team as soon as possible on +356 2226 8000 to lodge an accident report. You can also do so by using a button inside the car. We will take care of everything from there.
Our whole fleet of electric vehicles is protected with third-party motor insurance; this is a comprehensive policy that includes theft.
This policy has an excess fee of €250 for over those over 25 and €350 for those younger than 25 or have less than two years’ experience.
If you are involved in an accident, whether partially or fully at fault, you are only liable for the charges up to the excess amount. We reserve the right to waive this agreement if the damage is deemed to be caused by gross negligence.
Like any other vehicle, GoTo cars are sometimes scratched or bumped. Before you set off on your drive, you will lodge a damage report to ensure that you are satisfied that the vehicle is in good condition when you begin you hire period.
If you do notice a nick or bump, then you can check the previous report to see if this was listed by the previous user. If it shows up on the log, then we are already aware of the damage and you are not required to do anything.
However, if you can’t see any mention of the damage on previous reports, please register it yourself. This is for your own protection.
So… in short. If you are you have a crash or are involved in an accident in a GoTo car, first make sure everyone is ok. Secondly, check if the scene is safe and then get in touch with us to report it. We will handle all reports and claims from there onwards.
