Car sharing is not a new concept; it has been around in cities all over the world for decades, but it is a new thing for Malta; therefore, people will need a bit of time to adjust.
One of the greatest benefits of using GoTo car sharing is we have reserved parking spots for our vehicles. There are three spots per vehicle per location around Malta and Gozo and this covers our entire fleet.
One of the questions that we anticipate coming up is what GoTo users should do in the event that they cannot use a spot because someone with a private car has parked in it. This may have been intentional or it could have been a genuine oversight.
What we ask our clients to do is remain calm and find a spot to pull over. When you find a quiet spot, just give our customer service team a call and we will handle it.
GoTo cars come equipped with a system that allows you to simply push a call button and you can safely speak to us hands free, even while you are driving. If you want to, you can also call us from the GoTo app on your mobile phone or by dialling +356 2226 8000.
We strongly suggest to not call us on your mobile while you are driving. You will risk your own safety and you could also get a heavy fine. Our call centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so if you do need to speak to us, you will find someone at any time.
Once you get in touch with us, our call centre staff will guide you on the way forward. There are plenty of solutions available. You may be advised to see if you can find an alternative spot nearby. GoTo will also verify the situation and will stop charging you if the spot has indeed been taken up by someone that should not have parked there.
Unfortunately, not everyone obeys the parking rules, but we will do our best to make your experience is a smooth one and that you do not have to go out of your way or put yourself out of pocket.
